Being proactive..something I am not good at at all. I'm very much a procrastinator. But Covey explains that we can re-wire our thinking and become people of proactivity. I like when he says, " It means that as human beings, we are responsible for our own lives. Our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions." No matter the circumstances, it is my decision to make things happen. I can relate to being a reactive person. When I feel good about the day, things seem more positive, but when people around me are negative, or the day is dreary, I would prefer to not doing anything productive, and waste the day away.
What can I learn from this?
I learn that, as the book states, I need to make goals and achieve them.
I need to be more positive in my language, and the way I present things.
"We are responsible for our own effectiveness, for our own happiness, and ultimately, I would say, for most of our circumstances. " -Steven Covey.
